Being from a family of all girls, I have a special fondness for shoots with sisters. These two lovely little blondes kept me on my toes! They had such great energy, and it may have had something to do with the excitement of a first birthday party that was going to happen later that afternoon. Thanks for a fun session!

I met up with this cute little boy and his family last month, just a bit shy of his first birthday. What a cutie! I loved his curls and big blue eyes. We were graced with a remarkably mild morning for being July (and this hot summer of 2010!). Thanks for a great morning!

It’s good to be a king {Sneak Peek} | Washington, DC Baby Photographer

It is hard to believe, but this sweet, tiny (and almost six pound!) baby boy is already three months old. He was nicknamed by his NICU nursing staff as “King” for his resilient, fighting spirit. He is so incredibly strong, lifting up his head and swinging his arms and legs around with some serious force. It often took me by surprise how well he could lift up his head, since he was the size of a newborn. He was an absolute delight to photograph, charming me with his sweet spirit. His parents may look familiar since they are past wedding clients. It is such an honor to photograph my former brides and grooms as they become parents. Thank you for a wonderful morning! Six Weeks {Sneak Peek} | Washington, DC Baby Photographer

Spending a Saturday morning with a six week old and his new parents is a great way to start off the weekend. There is something so sweet about watching new parents interact with their little one. I could easily see how smitten they were with him, and it was obviously mutual by the way he gazed back. We spent a cozy morning at home and around the neighborhood. : When we were in the nursery I had to take some pictures on this bench. The nursery was decorated in a fun sailboat theme. I suspect this little guy will be doing quite a bit of sailing with his Dad in his near future.

Memorial Day | Northern Virginia Photographer

Thank you to the men and women who have served in our armed forces, who sacrificed so much for our freedoms. Let us not forget.

(These images were taken during a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery last fall. It was one of the most profound and moving events I have photographed. I was honored to be a part of it.)
