Washington DC Family Photography Session
August 25, 2008 – 8:45 pm
This weekend I headed out to the Jefferson Memorial for a family session. The weather was great and we went early enough so that we missed most of the crowds and had the monument practically to ourselves. It made for some great images. Their little boy is so fun. He had a great time making faces at the camera. Thanks for a great morning! –Sally

August 24, 2008 – 11:08 pm
More images from last week’s family session in Great Falls. I had so much fun spending the morning with this family and their sweet little girl. She kept me on my toes and it was fun crawling through the grass and exploring the world from her perspective. A self-described outdoorsy family, Great Falls Park was the perfect location to capture some memories. Enjoy! Sally

August 21, 2008 – 2:23 pm
For the past two summers my friend Kelley and I have been involved with a Bible Study for college girls home for the summer. It has been such a pleasure to get to know these young women, share in their lives, and to relive some of my own college memories through their stories. We’ve shared a lot over cups of coffee and cupcakes at Buzz and I’m looking forward to their winter break this December when they’ll be home again with stories of the past semester. Last week before everyone left we met up for dinner and a quick mini-photo session. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening. Miss you girls! Enjoy! Sally
Custom Photography

Here is a great resource for information about the investment of custom photography.
Inspiration
August 19, 2008 – 9:48 pm
I like a little inspiration for how to display my photographs. It is one reason why I love the Pottery Barn catalog and all the design blogs cropping up on the internet (this is one of my favorites). Now I found a product created for photograph layouts and I am excited to offer my clients a little inspiration for displaying their images with this new inspiration guide. It has different layouts for wall and shelf displays and includes the corresponding picture sizes to make designing a snap. Enjoy! –Sally
Great Falls, Virginia Photography Session | Sneak Peek
August 17, 2008 – 4:48 pm
Here is a sneak peek from yesterday’s session. This family was so much fun. Their little girl reminded me so much of oldest daughter at age one, so full of energy and spunk. We met at Great Falls Park in Virginia. I hadn’t been in years and it was great to be back at the park. I had forgotten just how gorgeous it is and I can’t believe how long I’ve been away. I’m already planning a trip to take my family there. Thanks for a great morning….definitely more to come! Enjoy, Sally
Family Session in Washington, D.C.
August 12, 2008 – 3:41 pm
I’m still catching up from last month’s sessions. This one was a very fun session with a very active 13-month old. He was just starting to walk on his own and was very much into exploring the world around him. We met up at the family home and then headed over to a park in Georgetown. It was a great morning–perfect weather and a smiley toddler. A photographer’s dream! Thanks for such a fun morning! Enjoy, Sally
I was totally smitten when I saw his gorgeous brown eyes.

You can get a glimpse of their yard. Gardening is a shared passion of Mom and Dad and we spent a great deal of time in the backyard with all the lovely plants and the fish pond. It was so relaxing.

Love the little wet toes.
When I arrived he was just finishing up a little morning snack. He was so incredibly charming with his cute smiles I had to get out my camera and start the shoot right away.
Tennessee Friends
August 10, 2008 – 4:04 pm
Late last winter some dear friends of ours moved to Knoxville, TN. Last month during our road trip we were able to spend some time with them at their new home. I have to be honest, I had a little house envy.
Their home is lovely and we are so happy for them, but we sure do miss them. Hopefully they’ll be up for a visit soon. (Hint, hint!) Miss you! Sally
Baby Boy
August 9, 2008 – 2:59 pm
I’m back from my time-off and will have some images to share from my trip soon, but in the meantime I’ve been doing some catching up on my editing. Here are a few favorites from a quick session from Tennessee. We stopped by to visit one of my husband’s friends from college. He and his wife just had their first child and I had to take a few pictures of the new addition. Their little baby was so cute and slept pretty much the entire time we were there. He was a perfect trooper for his first photo shoot. Enjoy! –Sally
