Old Town Family Photography Session

A couple of weeks ago, when the weather was so wonderful over the weekend, I met this family in Old Town for a photo session. This little toddler is quickly turning into a little girl and her parents wanted to capture this stage. I love the toddler period and it seems to pass by so quickly, so I know why they chose to do pictures now. It was a pleasure to spend time with you and your daughter. Enjoy! –Sally

Found this site on a blog that I read. It has some great tips and suggestions for taking great pictures of your kiddos. Check it out here. The Pioneer Woman also has some great photography tips too. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

Fun at the Jefferson Memorial | Washington, DC Photographer

I had the best afternoon with this family. We met up at the Jefferson Memorial last fall for family pictures. The day was cool, but we stayed warm by staying active! The kids were so playful and fun to chase around. I think we spent most of the afternoon giggling. They had me cracking up. Thanks for a great time. –Enjoy! Sally

Some favorites from a family session in December.  I had a fun morning with this little lady and her family.  She had the sweetest big, brown eyes and was a natural for the camera.  Enjoy! –Sally

Cherry Blossom Season | Cherry Blossom Photographer Washington, DC

I am enjoying the little spurts of warmer weather.  The flowers are starting emerge from the ground and trees are starting to bud.  Cherry blossom season is just around the corner!  Down at the Tidal Basin this weekend the cherry blossom trees were showing signs of the upcoming blooms.  According to the Park Service they are expected to peak April 3rd-9th.  I am now booking a limited number of cherry blossom portrait sessions for that general timeframe.  This is a great time of year for family portraits and engagement sessions.  Please contact me if you would like to book a session.  Go here, here, or here for some images from last year.

Make Something

The last big snow day we spent the afternoon making homemade play dough.  It was fun to see how a huge batch of pink play dough can be so entertaining.  The afternoon was spent creating clay cakes, cookies,  and other pretend tasty delights.  I’ve been inspired by this list.  We’re going to try to make the homemade butter (#28) this afternoon.  I’ve got a carton of cream waiting for the challenge.  And I have to say that the baked doughnuts sound very tempting (#10).  Perhaps for a rainy Friday?  Enjoy! –Sally
