PIN IMAGEPIN IMAGEPIN IMAGEPIN IMAGEThis fall I had the pleasure of returning back to Virginia for a long weekend filled with 9 family sessions, a headshot session, and I even snuck in some quick shopping at some of my favorites shops.  (I’m talking about you Trader Joe’s! I am holding out hope that this will be the year that TJ’s comes to Memphis. It has long been rumored and I’m keeping my fingers crossed!)

The weekend was full of misty and rainy days, but I’m so happy that everyone made the best of it with me and we got all of them in. Thanks for being such troopers and braving the cold and rain. I love y’all! This one is from one of my Sunday morning sessions. We met behind a their local shopping center to do something a little urban and different.  I loved the all the different textures and the mural.  Very funky.

More sessions to come!

It has been a very busy summer for me–my family moved to Northern Mississippi (just outside of Memphis, TN).  My husband has family here, and we are so happy to be close to them.  We’re just getting settled and finding all our new favorite go-to places.  I’m so excited about meeting new families here in the greater Memphis, TN area.

I’ve fallen in love with the area–lots of “yes, ma’am’s” and “hey, y’all’s” … the world’s best BBQ … smocked dresses and bows … and boots of every variety.  If you are looking for a family photographer with an approach of capturing real life as it happens, I can’t wait to meet you!  Let’s go find a cotton field, a fun park in Memphis (Shelby Farms, anyone?!), or have a quiet afternoon in your own backyard to capture some memories.

P.S. Virginia/DC/Maryland families I will be back in the area for a couple weekends this fall if you are interested in booking a session.  I plan to make it back to the area a few times a year for sessions and to visit my family and friends back “home.”  Please email if you’d like to get on the calendar for the fall, I’d love to see you!

I realize as I look back through my site that I haven’t blogged any of my sessions from last fall, so I am trying to remedy that.  This is from a mini-session at Fort CF Smith Park in Arlington.  A favorite location with a favorite family.  I’ve so enjoyed working with them ever since their youngest was an infant.  It is such a joy and privilege to have clients return for yearly sessions.  I truly enjoy each and every one, and documenting your kiddos as they grow up is such an honor.
